Balochistan Wide Strikes held in Protest of Recent Civilian Massacres

For 2 consecutive days, 2 separate Shutter-Down Strikes were observed in Balochistan to protest the recent massacre of innocent civilians in Kalat, Mastung, Panjgor, Mashkay and other areas.  On May 20th and 21st Shops and offices were closed, streets were deserted, and transportation was suspended throughout Balochistan.

Today all cities towns and villages in Balochistan were completely shut down in observance of the Baloch National Front call for wheel jam shutter down strikes across Balochistan.

Yesterday a shutter down strike called by Baloch Republican Party and Baloch Republican Student Organization was also observed throughout Balochistan.

Two Mutilated Bodies were found in the Saryab rd. area of Quetta today. One of the bodies was identified as Ghulam Qadir r/o Dhadar Sibbi and the other body remains unidentified.

On Wednesday morning, May 20th, Pakistani Forces abducted Meer Dad along with Maqbool Hamid from the Dasht area.

Late Monday night, Pakistani Armed Forces shelled civilian areas in Tump with Gunship Helicopters and Mortar Rounds causing widespread damage and injuries. One resident was killed during the shelling; the victim was identified as Mohammad Karim.

Voice of Baloch Missing Person’s Chairman Nasarullah Baloch released a statement urging the UN, Human Rights organizations and international community to raise their voices against Pakistani barbarism in Johan Kalat and Mastung areas.

He further stated that all of the dead bodies dumped by State Forces during the operation were previously abducted Baloch civilians held in their custody. VBMP Chairman Nasarullah Baloch expressed concerns regarding the safety of the numerous other people abducted during the operation who are still in the custody of the Pakistani Army.
